With Gesture Navigation on, on Android 11, when user swipes up on home screen to access app drawer, open an app and then swipe up home bar, the home page is correctly shown but the screen flashes where it feels like app drawer was closed behind the scene. If you were to open an app directly from home page and then swipe up home bar, the opened app my minimizes and home page is shown without any flash.
