Let us choose specific news interests, example, sports, I want to know news about American Football, but not about Soccer.

Let the user choose specific news interests, for example, I want to see news about Sports, but not every sport, I see a lot of news about Soccer but I'm not interested in that sport.
This could work adding subcategories in the news interests.

    Thiis is probably the feature that I need the most. It's hard to not just use Google's feed since I can customize it more than this.

    YESSS. Cluttering a chosen interest category with stories of no interest defeats the intention of the feature itself.
